It’s been five years since the release of the final installment in the Harry Potter series, but fans of the franchise kept it alive during this time, not knowing if we’d ever see a new movie in the HP universe. That is until Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, the Harry Potter prequel starring Eddie Redmayne was announced.
There’s more good news because Harry Potter creator, J.K. Rowling, just confirmed that they are releasing not one, but three Fantastic Beasts films! The writer used her Twitter account to confirm the news, informing one of her fans that there will be two additional movies.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to be released on November 18, so feel free to start the countdown. The first movie in the trilogy is based around the Fantastic Beasts textbook, which was written 70 years before Harry Potter’s time, and Eddie Redmayne will play the role of Newt Scamander, the person who wrote it. Other stars like Colin Farrell, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, and Alison Sudol should all appear in the franchise.
Considering that up until this week everybody thought that Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them would be a single entity, we bet every Potter fan is currently bursting with joy. November is just around the corner, and we’re ready for another season of Pottermania.
