Chillin’ in a Cat World

I don’t know about you guys, but sometimes I find it hard to relate to music anymore. I’m not sexing in da clubs or keeping it 300, like the Romans, I’m doing the school runs and eating porridge in the office.
Then hail, in comes Moshow, a Portland-based rapper who is actually keeping it real.
He’s no gangster. He’s a cat lover. He cleans out cat litter. So he chose to wrap about his feline muses.
My personal fav ‘Cat World’ (“I’m chilling in a cat world, I got cats in my house man, cats on the floor.”) I can hear that.

It’s no surprise that Moshow aka Cat Man has big love for the Cat Lady stereotype. Might his trendbreaking style mean we’re not destined for spinsterhood (on a crochet-covered armchair in a heavily-curtained room) after all?

In an interview published by Portland’s Willamette Week, Moshow explained that he hadn’t always created music about his beloved pets.
“I grew up in the projects, so I was rapping gangster stuff and pretending a life that I didn’t really live,” he told the paper. But he stopped because he “just didn’t feel comfortable rapping about things I didn’t do.”

Check out his youtube channel here. It’s worth it for that deep purr. You’ll know what I mean.
